Bimonthly Photography Showcase

The photography theme for this next couple weeks is pets, and I'd love to introduce you to mine: Sky, the eldest dog; Qiqi, our ex-stray cat; and Sox, the newest (and craziest) part of our family.

As always, I will return with my three favorite photos from the next two weeks on 15 March; I think I have a fun theme in mind for us. No spoilers, still.

Old Dog, Good Dog

This is Sky; she's around 12 now, starting to slow down a bit—but every now and again she's right back, full of life. I'll really miss her when she's gone; she has such a wonderful personality.

Unleaded Gasoline

Oh, leaded gasoline! Perhaps a reason why politicians are the way they are, no? I'm glad we got rid of the lead 50 years ago, lest Qiqi get a lethal dose of fumes.

Young Dog, Bad Dog

Need I say more? Sox is so full of life—often, it's quite a handful to have her running around. She's really good birding practice, though; running at high speeds, taking sharp turns, and the best part: she never flies away!

Don't forget: pets are fleeting family members. Just recently, we lost Jessie, our poodle. She was fairly young, as far as things go, she just had a heart attack. Died right on our rug. I guess, I'm just trying to say this: take good pictures of your all pets. Like right now. The cliché is true: you never know how much longer you really have.
